20 Mins A Day

Ok, ok, ok,

I am not staying on track with my posts. I have had to change directions and look for work. I still am doing my tasks and I owe everyone some pics and updates. I promise to post them soon.

In the meantime, I have tripped across some organzitional sites and blogs that you may find useful if you’re trying to do what I am doing.

So without further aideu, here are sites for you to peruse! (Hey that kinna rhymes!)

Enjoy….now back to sorting my emails out.

Just a quick note - I have sorted over 200k+ emails last 2 days (YAYAYAYA ME!) and am on a roll! I don’t want to stop, because if I do….I’ll never get back to it.

Oh one more thing, I want this blog to be a resource for you as well as a motivator for me. So if you have suggestions, comments, questions, etc — please post them!

Thanks,
Cort

Ok I am a bit behind — on my posts!  I had to reformat my computer, but while I was formatting, reinstalling, patching, etc — I kept going through papers and finished my last sort-to-sort box!  I’ll post pics soon and give you guys an update on the email extravaganza!

Cort

Ok, mail1

The next task will be to start on my mailboxes.  As you can see, I have over 8000 unread emails.  Many are newsletters, but many are items that need my attention.  While doing this, I will also begin breaking down my outlook psts into more organized manner, so I can have pst files for specific purposes and storage.  This will make locating some items much easier in the long run and help by keeping pst files within an adequate filesize.

Will post details tomorrow!

Hi there!

I didn’t post yesterday, because we were hit by an unexpected sheet of ice.  I have to say the weather is getting beyond weird when it’s 70 one day and 20 the next and 60 the next day.

I have my last “sorted-but-needs-further-sorting” box in my room, but I decided to take a break from the papers and focus on some reorg on my computer for last 2 days worth of tasks.  I didn’t think to take screenshots, so alas you’ll have to believe me when I say it’s a MELL OF A HESS! <g>

Will post next update tomorrow.

Man, this was probably one of the best ideas I’ve had in a while. I’m still going strong and will be fleshing out more over the next couple of weeks, but here is my progress on my desk.

A quick word: I only sorted the papers to ditch the garbage, place items to be destroyed in that bin, and the mail items I have to deal with by end of week in a basket. The odd and end items are still on my desk - but I’ll slowly get them put up too.

Tomorrow: Phase 2 (sorting mail items, and clearing off odds and ends!)

Hello - it’s me again!  I’m still on track, so here is today’s post.  It may not look like much yet, but every little bit will help!

Next task sorted, but to-be-further-sorted box

See you tomorrow!

Hi everyone!

Here is my progress for today.  I actually did this last night, so I’m slightly ahead. (Let’s see how long that happens, heh?)

Project:

Sort through a container of papers to divide garbage vs items to be destroyed.

Here is what I started with:

010209_a1    010209_b   010209_c

FINISHED: (white tub is all that is left that has to be destroyed)

010209_e   010209_f   010209_g

SUCCESS!! (This has been sitting on my floor 3/4 of the way full for too long.  I have 2 more containers in same state (papers pre-sorted that need to be sorted for trash vs destroyed).

Items to destroy include prescription bottles with name and address on label and *any* paper that has name, address, and other vital information.

Next Task:

One of the other boxes!

Welcome to 20 Mins A Day!  I’ll explain more tomorrow, but you can catch some background info at Cortney Sellers.
